Goodnight friends! The cooling, greying days properly settling in now, sun a faint hidden ember glow all day behind sealed smooth cement-coloured clouds. The kind of very light drizzle where the slight sensation of water droplets brushing by my brow and cheek coalesces silently out of the air, vanishing again as soon as I try to focus on it. Shaggy-headed yellow hawskbeards multiplying, overtaking meadow buttercups amid the long grass.
In keeping with the general pattern for wer weather, general malaise and bodily pains rising as the pressure and temperature fall. Everything shrinks a little – harder to draw or focus for long, more difficult to walk steadily or easily ‐ a slow dragging inertia I just have to bear with and outlast so far as I can.
May we find respite from sorrow and hope for the future today!
