Goodnight friends! Blazing bright open skies and sizzling warmth from dawn til past dusk, little cartoon white cumulus puffball clouds drifting past. The dimness beneath the eaves of the woodland has its own luminous quality, and a whispery panting hush that mutes the rustles and alarms of birds. Stopwatch rattle of crickets beginning in earnest in the meadows, wild grasses heavy and swaying, aflash with prismatic shifting gem-glimpses of red sorrel, golden trefoil and pale purple orchard grass.
Slept a bit better and spent the day in a purposefully gentle, slightly decadent way – it would have been hard to resist taht urge even if I’d wanted to on a long summer sunday in the wash of simmering heat. Made myself a picnic and went out to eat in the fields with the mumbling bees, then drew a while and listened to an N. K. Jemisin audiobook.
May we find moments of happiness and joy that fill us with heartfelt gratitude and peace today!
