Goodnight friends! Home from camp today, bleary and exhausted from the much higher than usual levels of activity, socialising &c. My empty flat rings with the lack of birdsong and distant snores and conversations. Feeling the heavy cost in malaise am exhaustion starting to kick in.

The occasional menace of rain came to pass today, in a chaotic sweep of flickering, changeable weather bouncing between about 14°c and 20, brief bubbling, hissing drizzles thickening into flashes of downpour that petered out and and steamed on warm bittersweet earth.

May we find determination and resilience today!

Photo of a dead standing tree trunk, mostly pale ashen grey and black but a riot of texture, some sections undulating as smoothly as draped silk, speckled with pinprick boreholes of burrowing insects, others furrowed and riven like split stone down to the ruddy rotten interior wood.
