Goodnight friends! Hot and dry again, meadows and woods a contant fizz of noise, insect buzz and tick-tick-tick and chirruping thrushes, furtive screams of jays high in treetops. A foetid tang cuts through the lushness from streams reduced to oozy mud trickles. Patterns of sparse oval clouds like the scales of carp, ablaze with white light. Beneath the canopies the world is like the inside of an emerald, sultry green brightness refracting and redoubling on itself over and over.
Air warm and dense all night, not helping with my muddled sleep schedule. When I eventually got going though I found it easy to move, to draw, to drift into pleasant focus.
May we nurture a sense of playfulness, freedom and discovery in our lives today!
