Goodnight friends! Yesterday’s sky was a little temperamental, mutely grey and shadowless but shifting, granting moments of pale light. Today the flat colourless clouds were much more resolute, breeze still scraping but not with any power to cause a crease or undulation of the blank cement block air. No speckle of drizzle, no bent branch, just a steady, constant 5°c, stubborn green shoots and pebble-like grey mushrooms mushrooms reaching up among the tired grass, taking every brief hour of dilute daylight they can get.
A brief walk befpre lunch and a relaxed afternoon with a friend coming over today, part of the slow unwinding of the christmas holidays. We watched an old musical, we chatted, I wore myself out pretty thoroughly by mid-afternoon, but not in a way that makes me feel too panicked, just the usual wages of activity in the colder months. A brief but sweet interlude of a day.
May we find community and share our joys and tribulations today!
