Goodnight friends! A clear, sharp day with fitful winds, not too cool but tasting of distant cold and wet earth. Dry golden leaves flutter on their branches in the breeze, making a sound like the crack and of hiss of newly-lit kindling. Generations of mushrooms rise through the litter of palm-wide linden leaves, some collapsing into inky black decay, others taking their place in processions of perfect paintbox pigments, orange, yellow, lilac, sienna.

Sore throat feels definitely eased today, hopefully a sign that I’m getting past this tangled muddle of mild cold and vaccines and what might be the long exhausted tail of my judo test. Another day of mostly small activities and pottering around, but a longer walk and a more cohesive energised feeling able to think more clearly and keep up a little conversation.

May we work to understand and communicate with earnestness, courage and clarity today!
