Goodnight friends! Weariness and vertigo close on my heels still, and the slow clamp of the damp, cooling atmosphere. A fog of unpleasant apathy settles too easily over my thoughts, my creativity feels lifeless and dull. Hoping some of this is just a matter of seasonal adjustment – not that my Autumn and Winter normal is as functional as my Summer normal, but that there’s a shaky sense of despair inevitable in feeling one collapse into the other.

The day and the sky about three quarters full of rain, a pale timeless gloom that bleeds and saturates through memory and imagination. Even ducks seemed tired of it, floating amid the grey echoing ripples and bubbles, heads tucked under their wings to make bobbing, pill-shaped islets of quiet.

May we find rest and healing today!
