Goodnight friends! A return of summery weather, clouds arrayed in neat white receding rows and wavering translucent wisps like the thin swashes of seafoam on a beach. Treetops full and lush, air sweet and creamy with the coconut scent of gorse. Strange everyday sights of life and growth everywhere – a procession of ten or more oily-grey slugs heading down the trunk of a birch tree rusty with yellow algae, apple trees blossoming from east to west, half pink and half green, birds of prey in a slow gyre too high to be much more than ominous black oblong shapes, the air full of glittering jet-bead hawthorn flies, long legs dangling.
Felt far lighter in my body in the drier, warmer air. A lovely gentle outing to the park with my girlfriend before lunch, enough to wear me out and slow down my thinking quite a bit the rest of the day, but not drop me into a pit of fatigue.
May we find moments of daydreaming and tranquil idleness today!
