Goodnight friends! Bobbing along just above freezing, and dripping wet with a slow grey rain, determined not to stop or risk doing anything else at all interesting. One of my favourites, consummate pavement crack survivor herb-robert, seems to be gulping down the damp and exploding into frothy masses of red-rimmed foliage. Even as an admirer I have to admit this can be its least prepossessing stage, no charming little pink flowers, just a wiry reaching web of tough, fleshy venous red stems and leaves too tightly packed to display their looping fractal edges, all of it bristly with short whitish hairs. What it does have at this time of year though is undisguised and indefatigable vigour which to me makes up for its ugly duckling looks.
Wet, cold weather really prying its way into my joints, painful and exhausting, struggling to maintain a lot of focus. Despite that I feel a hum of recovery coming along, I can finally do a few press-ups on my sprained shoulder and I had the energy to do a little light stretching too.
May we find and share warmth and kindness today!
