Goodnight friends! Sporadic rain and heady warmth still, a few darting moments of flashing, streaking sunlight quickly swallowed up again by the tarnished pewter sky. Mugwort and ragwort with their variously jagged and crenellated leaves surge up in fountaining plumes, splays of creeping cinquefoil bursting from rocky crevices. The reservoir is thick with floating feathers – first broods of ducklings now mottled, scraggly subadults and a few golden-cheeked hatchlings from second nestings are on the water.
Joint aches starting to deepen and become more disabling, physically and mentally as the air becomes more saturated and heavy. My recovery from exercise also feels stifled, still feeling muscular stiffness and pangs as if I had worked out this morning, which is usually more of a wintery sensation.
May we find a drive to experiment and play withoit fear of failure today!
