Goodnight friends! Thin hiss of windblown dry grass and lazy afternoon purr of grasshoppers. Sky far more fragmented and open from the start, though light still somewhat diffuse. The baby grebe has gained enough courage and experience to dive on its own, and its parents seem to be gathering sticks, hoping for a second nest. Great thickets of burdock surge up around the reservoir, and despite heroic efforts to haul them up by their ruddy venous roots walls of invasive pink-flowered himalayan balsam rear up above the willowherbs.
Relieved to feel much more energetic and stable, another bad night but able to move fairly easily by around noon and take a long slow afternoon walk.
May we treat each other and ourselves with thoughtfulness and compassion today!
