Goodnight friends! Heatwave bubbling up again towards 30°c, dry but close. Leaves curling and petals wilting under the oven warmth. Dense dusty sweetness of buddleja panicles slow and heavy on sluggish air. One baby grebe seems to have survived to the verge of fledging, its face striped undulating black and white, and peeps piteously the moment its guardian parent dives. At length they seems to lose patience and chase the chick until they force it to dive itself by sheer reflex.
Poor sleep in the weighty heat and a very groggy day, my head nodding every few hours with sleepless fatigue. My joints ached too, holding a little extra tension I think from some of the admin emails I’ve had to do recently.
May we find unexpected moments of inspiration and fresh delight in the commonplace today!
