Goodnight friends! A wet morning, fine silent rain and a dull, flat milky clouds, but the sky cleared to a scattered patchwork and the ground dried out fairly fast even in the mild, still low-20s warmth. Thickening humidity creeping in again by degrees once night fell. Layered sweetness of honeysuckle and buddleja, flowers of high summer giving way to seeds and berries.
My girlfriend staying overnights this weekend, sleeping a little better thanks to her presence and the gentle, passive peer pressure of someone who gets a sensible 7-8 hours. Had a nice chat on my churchyard walk with someone I see in passing fairly often, who takes painstaking care nurturing flowers around their kid’s grave.
May we bear comapssionate witness to the lives and worlds around us today!
