Goodnight friends! Very blandly grey all day, washed out, diffuse pastel light and soft colours with barely a hint of a shadow. 21°c and with a slow tepid weight of humidity. Heavy vase shaped rosehips from the early roses and freshly budding flowers of the late ones both cut through the haziness, smouldering with the fierce pink-red of embers. Bees still blundering eagerly among the snowberries and up into the inverted throats of cyclamens.

Energy felt slow and even, less spikes and troughs and more a gradual unwinding spring that didn’t see me accomplish anything that felt particularly exciting, but pottering slowly away on with little ongoing projects. Went out to a cafe for lunch with my girlfriend, helping a little with dinner, feeling content with how I’d spent my strength as I felt myself ebb and pain interpose more and more.

May we make space for patience, idleness and slowness in our lives today!
