Goodnight friends! While the chilly temperatures of yesterday are lingering, the rain and murky clouds from the weekend are temporarily banished. Long lean indigo shadows spider their way across sparkling grass, thick carpets of gummy arils around dark yew trees lit up like pomegranate seeds. Thermometer tumbled even further to -1°c soon after sunset, looking like it will barely come above freezing all night.

I woke up, hazy and sore, to the first pink flower of my christmas cactus just beginning to bud. My brain, unsurprisingly, feels wrung out and stamped flat. I forget even more readily than usual, threads of even the simplest tasks unravel. My ears seem to ring a little back in my accustomed quiet. I managed a short walk, my girlfriend helped me get lunch. As I hoped, apart from a deep sense of lethargy all the help I had over the weekend means my body doesn’t feel muxh worse than usual so far.

May we listen and learn with humility and patience today!
