Goodnight friends! Rain to start today, a whispery drumming on saturated sepia pavements that slowly seemed to exhaust itself over the afternoon. Bedraggled pineapple weed is beginning to put forth its first miniature downy dandelion seedheads. Meadow peas are just starting to struggle their way up through the thick wild grasses. Momentarily drained at last, for a few hours of the evening the sky cleared to a dusty sloe blue. There was a gorgeous interlude of drowsy copper sunlight, lighting up the ash trees like candelabra and painting long loose streaks of slanting brightness across the grass.

Never that pleasant for me exercising in the damp – not too particularly painful this time at least, I’m gradually getting a little more used to it, just a wearing process that stretches the time into something too taut and sandpaper raw. Other than that mostly taking things slow, making sure I’m rested and prepared as much as possible for vaccination tomorrow.

May we find clarity and strength of purpose in our lives today!
