Goodnight friends! Chirping in the meadows is hushed and fragmentary, the sky more of a patchwork too, still a slow feeling of uncertain electric crescendo in the air. Bumblebees still clamber spikes of tufted vetch like ladders, undeterred. Deep red stains of ripeness spreading across backberries and haws, grass seeds splitting open. Tree leaves starting to take on a dark-mottled sunburnt look.
Not so much went on today, but it felt curiously fulfilling all the same. I exercised, I drew a little, I took groceries in and put them away, peeled more mandarin oranges. Sometimes the same simple activities just seem to make a little more sense.
May we find enrichment, peace and pleasure through careful attention to all our senses in the present.moment today!
