Goodnight friends! Heavy, bruise-blue clouds didn’t quite exhaust themselves with long spates of rain overnight, but at least enough of their menace was spent to make for another wind-washed changeable day, an unrolling tapestry of gloom and brightness. Sheep in the fields, a half sweet, half foul pungency of animal bodies and winter silage. Hard, acid cold for much of the day, especially in the afternoon, thick foggy plumes swirling around my head. Broad swathes of snowdrops like the pale lights of a far off village in the gathering dusk.
Still a little worn thin by travel, and by the weather too, so a fairly low key day. Dragged myself through some exercise and some paperwork, and mainly kept myself quiet and still otherwise.
May we grant ourselves and each other empty time and the chance for blank, animal quiet today!
