Goodnight friends! Stalky, shining goblets of buttercups seeming to multiply by the day, overflowing with light until my vision was awash with swaying yellow afterimages. Daisies too and new bluebell buds and low growing dog-violets bursting up though lawns, with minute thyme-leaved speedwell flowers too. Finally rediscovered the true ID of the umbellifers I kept thinking were puny, early flowering wild carrots–they’re pignuts! Scuffle and scrabble and whir of little birds among the shaggy, luxurious undergrowth. Even warmer, maybe a little closer feeling too despite the broad blue sky, topping out about 24°c with a few similar days to come.
A successful day for drawing, took a small project all the way from the brief sharp ping of a simple idea to a complete piece within the day. Tired me out pretty thoroughly, so otherwise a brief walk and a few stretches, with a few idle hours between, was the best I could manage. Feeling pretty happy, I don’t have many days when get to feel like my health is under control and creative work is what the day is all about.
May we find time and space to reflect on how we spend our hours and days, what we can celebrate and what we want to change today!
