Goodnight friends! A swift, gloomy change towards wet grey skies, temperature sagging back down into the mid-single digits. Thin sullen rain muttered and trickled in sputtering fits and starts throughout the day. Plants are feasting on the alternating combination of light and water, cow-parsley shooting up, spreading its first white umbrels. First frilly hints of horse-chestnut blossom, and little hedgerow staples too like wall lettuce and cuckooflower.
Gaining energy and using it up too fast, still getting a little over-enthusiastic over signs of feeling better. Being able to do small household tasks both seem exciting and good, and kind of necessary, so it’s a hard urge to tamp down on.
May we treat each other, and ourselves, with patience and compassion today!
