Goodnight friends! A mottled silvery grey start today, cold and sparse, vegetation wilting away or still beaten down and sodden by recent rain and flood. Over the early afternoon clouds paled and were scraped back a little by thin sandpaper winds, gathered into fishscales and pale geologic strata. Distant unearthly shrieks of herons. Stilleto-thin shafts of light slid down into the damp woods, kindling sparks of citric yellow and orange. Slim white fingers and crimson blooms of fungus crawl across fallen logs.
Met a new friend from the internet, my first time in a while walking with someone else, and my first time in who knows how long cooking a simple meal for someone else. Very tiring, but satisfying.
May we find gentle acts of service and care to perform for each other today!
