Goodnight friends! Drained under heavy grey skies most of the day, needing long hours to recharge and gather myself between activities. By the time I managed to get myself outdoors the dim afternoon was at least taking on a slight silvery celluloid sheen, and I followed a mildly adventurous whim. Rather than taking a path I knew I tried to forge through a relatively untracked area of brush and woodland – and pockets of swampland, as it turned out.

A silent, barely-palpable speckling of rain kept up through most of the day, slowly but surely turning mud to gulping slurry. Unsuspecting birds, not used to trespassers, exploded from treetops in whipcrack flurries, and I spotted for an instant the white flagged tail of a deer as it was swallowed up by shadows among the dry bracket. With few landmarks it was incredibly easy to lose my bearings, even just tens of metres from the trail I knew.

May we be willing to take imaginative risks and explore new options and ideas today!
