Goodnight friends! A little less hot, at the top of the 20s, but also more overcast, with a bright but opaque white sky for much of the afternoon and a sticky, greasy-feeling threat of rain around 3pm. Sadly the purple and silver foam of the wild grasses is being mown away, the stubble left behind prickly, sere and friable. A few little secret flowers are made revealed at least, yellow tormentil, hop trefoils and chickweeds, but the grasshopper chorus is thinned to almost nothing.
Able to make a full, if slow circuit of the churchyard, pain gradually receding back towards a steady hum. After generally idling about most of the day I went over to my girlfriend’s place for dinner, part of the same step-by-step ramping up of activity.
May we find a sense of contentment and sufficiency in our lives today!
