Goodnight friends! First day for my birthday trip, off to London on the train beneath a bright and sweltering sky. Capped out at about 28°c, and remained that warm as a sticky hot wind bustled layer on layer of pale translucent grey cloud over until the sky was an abstract swirling ink painting. Eventually, a syncopated, tremulous rattle of midnight rain relieved the pressure a little.
Before heading back out of central London to our hotel we spent a fascinating afternoon in the Wellcome collection, a museum-library hybrid institution centred around health, the body and human experience.
