Goodnight friends! A few broad blue swathes of sky come afternoon but only after another grey start, the air thick and greedily clinging. Meadows lovely and dense with layers of colour and life – rattle and buzz of wings against swaying grass, bird’s-foot trefoil, dainty water-dropworts like cow-parsley in miniature.

A little stiff sore after yesterday’s exercise, and mood appreciably lower under dimmer skies – glimpses of sunlight when I finally mustered the energy to go out bolstered my spirits, bringing home part of the purpose I first set for my daily walks. Been a little while since I needed that little self-forgetting of sun and wind and grass so much. My second isolation birthday coming up on sunday probably isn’t helping my spirits either.

May we find time and space to rest and be at idle peace without expectations from ourselves or others today!
