Goodnight friends! Brilliant, clear distant golden light on a fine dappling of snow that fell overnight. Grass weighed down into a glinting, webby white carpet with occasional slender springy emerald spears poking through. Around 2°c with a harsh sandpapery bite, the clear sky and the long ruler-straight shadows both deep blue, the pavement slick and scaly with black ice. Beautiful pinkish gauze of low evening cloud gently veiling the moon, low and full and silver.

Hard, icy cold slowing me down a little, and a slight haze of recovery from new year’s eve, but generally feeling fairly good for most of the day. Stamina still a bit short, but I managed my full stretching routine without too much difficulty and could generally concentrate better. Maybe time to up my walking distance a bit soon. Tomorrow though I’ll be on a small outing for a friend’s birthday, so one step at a time.

May we treat each other, and ourselves, with gentleness and compassion today!
