Goodnight friends! A welcome change to the brisk hard edge of a bright cold wintery morning. Thrushes and the skipped stone bouncing flight of yellow-flanked grey wagtails foraging weightless along steep-banked pebbly streams, while I sink nearly ankle deep in the dough-soft wet earth. White gold blaze of sunlight on broad stands of dry willowherbs. I was out by around midday, and startled to see clearly how low the december noon sun really is, barely able to haul itself above the rooftops of two storey houses.
Though afternoon clouded over, settling in from the looks of it for more pallid rain, the light and crisp brilliance helped ease my aches and generally set me up for a light mood. Decisions of how to spend an hour, when to rest, when to be active seemed straightforward and I felt in better touch with my body.
May we find solace and comfort in deepening our relationships with ourselves and each other today!
