Goodnight friends! A very split day, the morning dazzlingly, cloudlessly bright, trees overgilded with brilliant light on glowing leaves, heraldic hues on the empty azure air. Early afternoon swiftly drew on a faintly rippling curtain of seamless cloud, soft grey and clinging like a slumping banner of wet silk, all the diamond dew snuffed out.

Seems like I might have been led down an overenthusiastic path of recklessness by my good results with technical judo. I awoke with a ragged-feeling sore throat, a stuffy nose and an extra feverish tint to my bodily aches. Possibly I’ve driven myself into a mild relapse or immune reaction with my folly – although equally I might have caught a minor cold somewhere in the past week or two that’s coming due, just sped on by running myself down more than it felt like I was. A pale miasma of depression hung over me as well as an extra weight of fatigue, as bland and colourless as the evening sky.

May we find a sense of peace and patience in our lives today!
