Goodnight friends! As October begins, the ongoing warm and often bright weather, 18°c and often sunwashed again, is really feeling not just unseasonable but uncanny in the same way that the long sweltering heatwaves of recent summers felt threatening and opressive. The leaves blaze as they turn, withering like singed paper at the edges, while spiderwebs hang overloaded with the mercury shine of raindrops among the cool, damp undergrowth. A swift flight of screaming parakeets overhead.
Waking up sore and creaky from the grey, drizzly night, cocao-brown puddles in the potholes. Taking the morning slow and gentle, and feeling a little more relaxed day by day about being able to manage the relevance pain levels, helped quite a bit. I took a light walk and stretched in the afternoon, gradually warming up for judo, which I’m slowly getting a bit better at taking light and technical, getting some little bits of progress and learning without – hopefully feeling so drained for the next few days.
May we find space and time to reflect on, process and learn from our thoughts and feelings today!
