Goodnight friends! Heavy rain went on long into the night last night, and there were several fairly dense showers today too, a patchy changeable sky more often grey than blue and noticably cooler at 18°c. Long dry earth and sap-sticky fallen leaves greedily sucking down the water. Thick, sharply pungent fruity smell of damp and decay on the air. Squirrels furtive and scrabbling and alert, shield bugs making the best of the hawthorns before all their lobed leaves turn to kindling colours.

Slept fairly poorly again, but resting heavily yesterday sped my recovery a little and softened the worst of the lingering malaise. Not a ton of consistent energy and not much of a creative spark. Packing for a small trip my girlfriend and I will take tomorrow, a longish walk between the drizzle, and taking things pretty easy otherwise.

May we find a sense of freedom and ease in our lives today!
