Goodnight friends! Heat rose again, topping out at a searing dry 37°c, every colour flat and washed pale except for the glossy jewel glinting of berries, air thickened by the jammy scent of blackberries. Sunwashed wiry tendrils of spent hawksbeards curve stiff and pale in the inky-dark shadows beneath the trees. Whenever the breeze lifted there was brief moment of relief and a slow, luminous fall of golden leaves and linden seeds, helicopter bracts in tight spiral parachute whirls so rapid they seemed like flickering conical forms drifting downward.
Heavily fatigued in the morning from the eclipse viewing, and felt several slow waves of malaise wash over me during the day, but each receded and my overall energy level convinced me to give judo a try despite the heat. Overall it wasn’t too bad, I managed to work fairly hard for brief periods and learn a little.
May we find moments of unalloyed pleasure and indulgence in our lives today!
