Goodnight friends! Heat rising to fierce, dry 34°c, colours wan and flat beneath a blazing cyan sky. Dense little clumps of cloud drifting slowly by, scratchy rattles of grasshopper song. My girlfriend and I went to the park to watch the eclipse, the dry cropped meadow scattered all over with picnic blankets and camping chairs. Some clouds clung together in the west but fortunately not enough to obscure most of the event. As it reached its 90+ percent zenith, a slender lunar cresent, the air grew briefly cooler and the air took on a sepia celluloid tinge.

May we find a renewed sense of awe and wonder at the world around us today!
