Goodnight friends! Not quite so hot, but still scraping the top of the 20s and with thick slow golden light suffusing simmering air and casting long, deep pools of indigo shade. Gravestones covered in the spidery black etchings of hawksbeard and wild grass shadows, smouldering, crumpled edges of sun-scorched leaves. Grasshoppers driven from shorn, bristly swathes of meadow to the hedgerow verges are full-size, robust and powerful enough to leap well over a metre, elegantly striped in shades of silvery grey and wan yellow that almost perfectly mimic the colours and angles of grass stems.

Energy ebbing and flowing a little unpredictably, I managed a little writing and drawing, and a brief walk, but everything was somewhat scattered, with frequent breaks and unexpected swells of energy that were tricky to harness to anything in particular.

May we find and allow ourselves to indulge in moments of unexpected pleasure and joy today!
