Goodnight friends! Still warm, but after the calm, even exhalation of yesterday nothing has felt so intense as those few 30+ days. Highs of 27°c, a slow ramp up after a grey humid start that briefly seemed to threaten rain. A few patches of meadow remain, dry leaves of grass curling into festoons of pale glossy spirals. Elsewhere there are swathes of shorn, ugly bristles, grasshoppers muted and meadow peas hacked down. Trunks of spreading oaks blotched with swirling black and gold as the shadows of their own breeze-tossed canopies fall across them.
The changing air pressure today took me out a little, woke up very sore with a grey sky overhead, and another spike of pain as the clouds cleared away again. Long hours of dreary malaise, but a lovely afternoon walk with my girlfriend and her dog as things eased up, and a little focus for writing in the evening.
May we find mutual care and support in our lives today!
