Goodnight friends! 33°c, more very pale thin clouds, only adding to the humidity. Faint acrid scent of oozing tarmac on the simmering, breathless air. A constant soft popcorn crackling among the grass, as if heat might be cooking off the little peapods of the clambering vetches. Every few steps through long grass an electric blue wand of a damselfly, a bunch of slender sandy moths or a brown butterfly would be stirred up from rest among the silvery stalks. Once even a hunch-shouldered black and red tiger moth, though by that point my phone was too overheated to grant me access to the camera.
Sleep a little better, though still a good ways off my intention. A gentle start, gradaully working my way through all my stretches, doing a little bit of TTRPG writing and staying as cool as I can. My first session back at judo in a while was fortunately a shorter one than usual, the abject humidity and my somewhat deteriorated conditioning weren’t doing me many favours.
May we find renewed curiosity and wonder at the world around us today!
