Goodnight friends! Travelling home today, leaving the indigo sea behind us and climbing the undulating roads away from the coast. Scarred patchwork blanket of hedge-lined fields spreading out around us, edged by bindweed and ragwort and firey pink banners of willowherb. Soft, patchy white clouds and humid, browbeating heat, another sweaty 20°c day without the breeze off the channel to cool things down.

A groggy feeling as the weight of activity weighs on me, outweighed by the amazing jumble of experiences I’m still sorting through, from talks about plesiosaurs to walking windswept beaches to handfeeding dozens of thrashing silver fish. Thankfully with so much support from my girlfriend, I was able to pace myself and didn’t have many periods of prolonged intense activity, and none without periods of intermittent rest, so I feel fairly confident in a reasonable recovery timeline with a week or so of careful rest.

May we find a sense of agency and purpose in our lives today!
