Goodnight friends! A sun-drenched, paradisical day, rising from 16 to 21°c in the heat of the afternoon. The wind a soft, faintly honeyed breath and the skies an endless plain of blue. Ornamental cherries took their cue and burst into extravagant candyfloss piles of blossom. Squirrels highline scrambled and leapt across fence lines and branches. Silver-ruffed ashy mining bees, red-tailed bumblebees, shining enamel-backed hoverflies, luminously scarlet and purple peacock butterflies filled the still air with colour and noise and motion. Below in the grass the first pinhead blue-striped speedwells are opening up among the chickweed and mouse-ear cress. Scaly catkins and a haze of green buds on the silver birches.

With the generalised aches and lymphy, swollen feeling of illness continuing, I skipped judo entirely in hopes of granting myself more space and time to recover. A little photosensitive, so not too much extra allure to the balmy outdoors besides the comfortable heat. Slightly dazed and drooping mostly, reading and scratching away at a very desultory bit of drawing.

May we find patience and balance in our lives today!
