Goodnight friends! A chill and foggy morning, swiftly clearing into a white-dappled sky that warmed up slowly to about 15°c, though kept feeling a little sharp by a steady breeze. Stalky stems of bittercress among the moss opening up, tiny flowers turning from narrow flutes to dainty white butterfly quatrefoils. Actual butterflies as well, too skittish to get a clear look on a blustery day, but flickering strobes of red and black make me guess red admirals. Fresh cogwheel gleam of glossy new shining crane’s-bill leaves, young, ominous fuzzy nettles and the sculptural lidded flowers of deadnettles nearby.
Damp and cold weather overnight jostled amd disturbed my sleep more than usual, and I was managing a lot of pain in the early part of the day. Gradually things eased up as the day warmed, and after a walk I ended up doing a small craft project, a pretty wonky result but satisfying to solve problems (or not…) and get my hands on materials.
May we find a sense of adventure and discovery in our lives today!
