Goodnight friends! A little cooler, and buffeting winds continue, but feeling much less oppressive. After a thin morning scatter of drizzle the clouds began to peel apart and roll up, long sooty loaves of cumulus and streaky undulating grey tidelines between stretches of pale blue, the faint ghost of the cresent moon sometimes visible. Little blunt heart-shaped celandine leaves among the boles of the linden trees with their red-budded tendrils, frilly-edged caramel-coloured crust funguses and translucent, gluey blobs of white brain on fallen branches.
Sleep was still very much disturbed, but fortunately pain has been slowly but steadily ebbing over the day. I don’t think the general pattern of rain will end any time soon, so I’m bracing for an uncomfortable few days especially as my body readjusts to the humidity. I took advantage of the lull and feeling of relative lightness to do a bit more drawing, on top of taking a slightly longer walk, as well as getting in a little exercise and stretching.
May we find a sense of balance and stability in our lives today!
