Goodnight friends! Gloomy to start with clinging tendrils of mist, and throughout the day there was a pins-and-needles sensation of damp. A shade warmer by the afternoon. Sometimes the one degree step up to 8°c together with patches of clear sky makes all the difference. Briefly, I even felt a gossamer hint of warmth on my face. Clouds swiftly changing and fitful by then, heavy glowering slabs of slate grey gold edged by the sinking afternoon sun, soft puffs of cirrus in wide blue vistas. The residue of recent overnight winds – snapped branches, little pale green lacy scraps of lichen, dark, bristling feather dusters of pine needles – lies strewn across the grass. Darting shuttlecock silhouettes of little birds very active among the trees.

Another fairly poor night’s sleep, and a spongy heaviness following me quite a way into the day, joints still protesting too. Even on relatively quiet days needing a lot of recoveey time still. Did eventually manage a walk, and after a long few hours of dazed idleness some stretches as well.

May we be able to set aside space and time in our lives for stillness and quiet today!
