Goodnight friends! Cold enough that a rough, raw ache hit the skin the moment I stepped outside. A little more silent overnight snow again, repeated light falls forming a smooth, dazzling white surface that transforms completely over the day. It twinkles like crushed diamond in the sunlight, becomes deep oceanic blue in the shade of afternoon, and reflects the harsh white and orange of electric light up into the night sky with a strange, textureless glow like a screen tuned to an empty channel. In places you can trace the stick thin arrow-shaped tracks of birds, becoming wandering cuneiform scripts where prints overlap. Still generally bright but much more cloud today, mostly in thin, rippling and tattered sheets undulating high overhead, but there were a few iron-dark cumulus low on the northwest horizon.

A fairly rigorous rest day, trying to recover as much as I can from my museum outing yesterday. A leaden feeling of deep exhaustion clung to me all day, not unexpected at all but a little disheartening. I was mentally together enough to be able to draw for a short while, which diverted my attention pleasantly.

May we find a sense of acceptance and patience today!
