Goodnight friends! Clouds gathering up again, but in busy, streaky pearlescent layers, a damp haze in the air and a wide smear of diffuse sunlight glowing among the black branches. Long bouts of rain came on through the afternoon, one while I was out walking. Not ramling up in a slow swell of tingling drizzle but with a leaping, almost mechanical suddenness, so sharp and cold on my brow it felt the beginnings of something like an ice cream headache.
My girlfriend stayed over, and we had a slow, relaxed morning as an extra wind down and rest period after the mild exertion of new year. After a walk I was most back to recovery, trying to be a little proactive about slowing things down when I csn, especially as the damp, cold weather of winter properly kicks in.
May we find a renewed sense of wonder and curiosity at the world around us today!

Photo of a bright green shoot budding among greyish leaf litter, layers of stiff, fleshy, cupped leaves beginning to open up into a rosette, the shape possibly suggesting something like a hyacinth.
