Goodnight friends! About 6°c most of the day, clearer for longer but still with swathes of gloomy cloud looming overhead from time to time, and a few passages of silent drizzle. Around glossy hedges of ivy hung the vague musky herbal scent of their tiny yellow-tipped flowers, and the air nearby was full of swirling columns of tiny flies, motes of silver caught in the sharp wintery light. Dimple-crowned orange deceiver mushrooms in the grass. Occasional short, sweet trills of birdsong from among the dense scaly needles of the lawson’s cypresses.

Starting up early and flagging fairly fast again, enjoyed a walk in the cold bright morning after I saw my girlfriend off. By early afternoon I was already starting to feel worn out, but after a long slightly dreary rest managed to do a few household tasks in the evening. Creatively still feeling fallow, fatiguing so fast in the cold has taken a lot of the wind out of my sails.

May we grant each other, and find for ourselves, acceptance, fellowship and understanding today!
