Goodnight friends! Much warmer, a constant rustle of a breeze but the damp lapping of the mushroom-scented wind doesn’t feel harsh. Overall a grey cast to the sky, but the clouds are shifting constantly, crowns limned with creamy white, and a few wan sunbeams chase each other across pearled lawns. Earth still saturated, dark as charcoal and smelling like ink. A stray daytime bat, flickering and jinking in the air, flurrying across the late afternoon.

Still feeling weak and shaken, no one overwhelming symptom but a heavy general malaise – I think partly this is the backlash from the vaccinations, combined with a generally fairly eventful week for me without a clear structure to follow. This is the first day since Monday without an activity of some sort.

May we find renewed wonder and delight at the world around us today!

Among wispy smoke-like clouds in the pale blue air above is the tiny angular black shape of a bat in flight.
