Goodnight friends! A dull rippling grey sky to start, but dry except for a few slight prickles in the air, and warmer too, warm enough still that after a rainless night the fine, slightly sandy soil here already dried out a little. A little wind picked back up again in the afternoon, opening up the clouds, casting long shadows and etching towering pillowy clouds with slivers of silver. Thin barking of squirrels, glistening black blots of tar spot stark on the changing sycamore maple leaves.
Cold and damp overnight, half-woke a few times bleary and achey. I think I’ll have to gather up the extra energy tomorrow to change my bedclothes out for the thicker winter duvet. Other than a slow, groggy start a pleasant and moderate day. Listening to an audiobook, doing my stretches, working through my routine slowly as I acclimatise to the higher level of ambient pain.
May we find renewed delight and fascination with the specificity and detail of our daily lives today!
