Goodnight friends! Far more manageable warmth, 21°c with a cool honeyed breeze, tiny scudding flecks of cloud buffered through a pale blue sky. Yarrow stalks blooming around lawn borders in tight umbrels, rhododendron flowers dessicated to leathery brown twists but still stubbornly hanging on to their twigs.

Not as restful a post-judo day as would be ideal, probably. One of the several minor threads to my especially poor sleep recently has been my bed, of which the mattress and the frame have both been slowly giving up the ghost over the last year. At last the replacement process has begun. There’s been lots of stuff to haul around, things to assemble and disassemble, and a fun sleepover-like experience of sleeping on the floor, sleeping on my sofa, re-encountering my familiar space from different angles.

May we grant each other the gift of asking for tge help we need today!
