Goodnight friends! Our first full day exploring the Kew botanical gardens, so much to see we’ve given up on ideas to do other things tomorrow and are going to take another route through the immense variety of glasshouses and gardens. Beautiful, if slightly oppressive at times, weather for the outing, 22°c with occasional partial cloud and enough of a breeze to scatter the humidity and cool things down from time to time. A little overwhelming for me stamina-wise, even though I’m using a wheelchair a lot this weekend. Expecting to recover for a few days at home after this.

Fragrances of herbs and flowers thick and sweet, spectacular dizzy variety of flashing colours and chirr of insects and peeping squawk of green parakeets in the trees enough to mask almost conpletely the mass of London outside the huge gardens.

May we find our senses of wonder and delight sharpened and renewed today!
