Goodnight friends! Feeling less clammy and more open, sky pale blue between worn-thin carp scale clouds. Brief gusts full of the green syrupy smells of summer make the bowing white heads of orchard grass shimmer and curl and bend, wave crests on a green ocean. Fine high trilling of blackbirds. Bright pink pencilled crane’s-bills and herb-robert beneath a layer of nettle and hemlock and bedstraws. Light, silent overnight drizzle, a cool whisper of flowing air.
Leaden, achy steps continuing slowly upward towards stability, heartened still by the familiarity of this constant grating pain and bilious fatigue. I’ve been here before, I know pretty well how to do nothing much and wait and recover. More consistently able to shape thoughts into words today, feeling more able to move about safely too.
May we build goals and plans for our futures that excite and encourage us today!
