Goodnight friends! Fitting first day of spring, a gentle breeze, 18°c, thin ribbons of peach-stained cloud in a towering azure sky. The first new green cherry twigs among ivory flowers and branches both aglow with slow, warm coppery rays. Bare poplar crowns studded with perched wood-pigeons and magpies, while blue tits and wrens whir from bush to bush. Grass and daffodils filled with the fluttering lantern gold of transmitted light.

Despite the call of the balmy air, poor sleep and slow recovery meant I was slumped in bed until late in the afternoon – something of a luxury in itself, to have an hour or more of blue sky still left at past 4 PM. Pain ebbed bit by bit, but still lethargic and my activity has still been pretty minimal.

May we find a clearer and deeper sense of our values and what we can do to live by them today!
