Goodnight friends! Breath billows and steams, more cloud than I can see in a great pale open sky the colourless near-blue of polished metal, the only glimpse of heat anywhere the slow molten yellow of the western horizon, the only hint of movement a few sickle-winged gulls. Down in the churchyard a flight of inquisitive redwings with sharp white eyebrows and ruddy flanks root among carpets of leaves, heaped and trodden and frozen and trodden again until they from firm, smoothed off, almost springy linoleum-like pathways. Consecutive hard frosts leave limp grass white with growths of long saw-toothed crystals.

More consistent energetically and less sense of sudden collapse, although being out in the cold for too long does sap my stamina fairly fast. Getting a little creative time and household maintainance time, but everything is still a little compressed by the need for higher vigilance and pain management.

May we find communal playfulness and a sense of shared joy and adventure in our lives today!
